For iOS 11 and above:

Open your camera app and hold your device so that the QR code appears in the camera's viewfinder. Your device should recognise the QR code and send you a notification.

From there, just tap on the notification to open Mettle and approve access.

If you aren’t on iOS 11 or above:

You can use any QR code scanner and it will work in the same way.
