Where can I get support if I’m struggling financially?

There are also a number of debt advice organisations who offer free, confidential support for people who are concerned about their finances.

Here are some of the main organisations and charities with a description of what support they can offer. Information on opening times and ways to contact are available from the links below.

Citizens Advice

Citizens Advice offer free, impartial, independent advice on debt, benefits, housing, legal matters, employment and general consumer advice.

MoneyHelper

MoneyHelper provides support on debt, how to reduce spending, and build up savings. They also offer help on redundancy, relationship breakdown or bereavement and how to find out about benefits and entitlements.

StepChange

StepChange are a charity who offer free, flexible debt advice using an online debt advice tool or by speaking to someone.

National Debt Line

National Debt Line offers free and confidential advice on debt solutions, dealing with bailiffs, creditors, credit score problems, court action and cost of living.

Money Wellness

Money Wellness is one of the largest providers of debt advice and debt solutions in the UK. Every day, they support people up and down the country with budgeting, benefit checks, dealing with bailiffs and negotiating lower monthly debt repayments.

Shelter

Shelter helps people facing urgent housing issues give advice, information and provide support.
