Connecting your account helps you track your money and stay ready for Making Tax Digital (MTD). Once linked, your transactions and receipts sync between Mettle and FreeAgent in real-time.
How to link your account
Open your Mettle app and go to the Account screen.
Tap Connections and select FreeAgent.
Choose if you are new to FreeAgent or have an existing account.
Follow the prompts to allow data sharing between both apps.
Set a password if you are creating a new account to finish the setup.
Syncing your data
Once connected, your bank feed stays live for 90 days. You will need to tap Refresh Consent in the Mettle app every 90 days to keep the link active. This makes sure your digital records stay up to date for HMRC.
Getting FreeAgent for free
To keep your FreeAgent subscription for free, you must:
Make at least one transaction every month using your Mettle account.
Keep your Mettle account open and active.
Note: If you already pay for FreeAgent, look for the 'Radar' alert (the bell icon) in your FreeAgent dashboard after linking to switch to the free Mettle-funded plan.
