If you are not VAT registered

If your business is not VAT registered, you do not have a VAT number. This means your services are VAT exempt and you should not add VAT to your invoices.

How to add your VAT number

If you are VAT registered, you must add your VAT number to the app before you can include it on invoices.

  1. Go to the ‘Account’ tab.

  2. Tap ‘Company details’.

  3. Enter your VAT number.

Note: A UK VAT number is usually 9–12 characters long and often starts with ‘GB’.

Important: You cannot turn on VAT for your invoices until you have added this number to your account details.
