If you choose to switch to a new Mettle bank account

When you switch we’ll transfer your balance over to your new Mettle bank account.

Once the switch begins, your app will be locked. This usually takes less than a couple of minutes, but can take up to two hours. If you need to make any payments during this time you’ll need to use an alternative bank account.

Any funds paid to your closed e-money account details after the switch will automatically return to the sender.

If you choose not to switch before your e-money account closes

You’ll need to transfer your remaining balance to an alternative bank account before your account closure date. We’ll provide you with plenty of notice of your closure date so that you have time to do this.
